Title: Hot Drum Label: OWSLA Release date: 16 November 2016 |
It’s no question that JOYRYDE has been on a hot streak during his breakout year; he has produced eight successful singles and branded his own sound, bouncing between Garage, House, Trap, Hip Hop with hint of Trance and Drum N Bass – and now he has one more reason to keep going full throttle. JOYRYDE has captured the attention of dance music’s king, Skrillex, who welcomed him to the multi-genre indie powerhouse, OWSLA, for an official commercial release of “Hot Drum” as well as the release of three more tracks coming in EP form by mid 2017. The funky, reggae-drum infused “Hot Drum” was premiered back in September to significant fan and media buzz, and was even dropped by Skrillex when he opened with it during his Boiler Room DJ set. On November 16th, “Hot Drum” will now be available worldwide on Spotify, iTunes, and other major music outlets. While JOYRYDE is never one to linger too long in one place, stay tuned for his three singles on OWSLA early in the New Year.
The LA-based, British imported producer JOYRYDE made waves last year when he burst onto the scene with something no one had imagined yet—an automotive-inspired brand of house. His high-energy, metal-heavy music spread like a gasoline fire among bassheads and tastemakers alike; his first live performance of 2016 was at none other than EDC Las Vegas at the revered Cosmic Meadow stage, a feat not unlike playing in the Super Bowl for your first football game. His debut LA performance at the iconic Avalon Hollywood brought over two thousand “Ryderz” for a wild night of thrashing, funky bass music accompanied by fellow OWSLA producers Rickxsan, Gravez, Sam F and Swage. To everyone’s surprise, JOYRYDE also brought along Ephwurd, Ghastly, NGHTMRE and Slander as special guests. Together the performed on a 1968 Dodge Charger with CO2 cannons coming out of the hood. With the support of Skrillex and the OWSLA crew, he is set to continue his hot streak after “Hot Drum“. JOYRYDE always has his subwoofer cranked and his pedal to the metal, though, so you never know what territory this dynamic producer will conquer next.
